My name is David Norton. I work as a web developer in the Washington, DC area. I graduated in 2007 from Franciscan University of Steubenville with a Bachelors in Computer Information Science and a minor in Business Management.
I am a Java web application developer, involved in all aspects from the front-end HTML/CSS/Javascript to the web-tier, to the Spring-managed middle tier, to some database design. The main focus of my job is developing customizations and management applications for reporting applications (MicroStrategy).
One of my pet peeves is bad process, so I always try to improve it where I can - whether that involves finding a better IDE setup, tweaking the build scripts, or setting up continuous integration. The name of the game is Kaizen (continuous improvement). A lot of companies say they are "agile" but unless you are always looking for ways to do things better, you are not agile at all.
